Mean girls is a film about 16 year old teenage girl named Cady, who lives in africa. But then is forced to move with her parents to America, she then ends up having to start a new life at high school where she finds herself in another world.

The characters that I found the most interesting was Gretchen Wieners and Regina George. Gretchen is the one with all the secrets,’ she knows everything about everyone,’ that’s why her head is so big, it’s filled with secrets’. Regina is the popular one in the group she gets everything that she evers wants, like every popular girl in high school. This is one of the reasons why people become popular in high school. Another reason people are popular in school is because of the people that they associate with, if your popular and you talk to someone who isn’t popular, then you are then seen as weird, then your popularity level goes down. This is because of society nowadays, and how popularity is a big part of everyone’s life.

Messages I took away from this film is that popularity isn’t everything in high school. In the film Cady Heron is friends with the plastics, the plastics is a group that Regina, Gretchen, Karen smith are in, it’s the most popular group at there school. Cady joins the plastics until Regina goes behind her back and kisses the boy she likes, Cady then has the incentive to ruin Regina’s life, the group and her popularity. This told me that some people that you think are your friends, but aren’t. You really have to know who your true friends are, they can easily turn on you and stab you in the back when you least expect it. This made me realise that there are some fake people in this world who have cold hearts. And it made me fell very lucky and privileged that I don’t have friends like that, I have seen what’s it’s like to have ‘fake friends’ and I don’t want to experience it.

Challenges that Regina had to face was not realizing what Cady was trying to do to her life. Regina says that she would like to lose ‘5 pounds’ so Cady thinks that this would be the perfect time to destroy her perfect body and popularity. In the real world, people fantasize about having the perfect body and life.

Mean Girls is an appropriate title for the text because the film is about mean girls, and how society affects the way high school teenagers live their lives due to society nowadays

I would recommend this film to teenagers in high school, or anyone that is new to high school. Because teenagers can relate Cady because she once was the new girl, it would also make teens realise what high school does to us as teenagers
